PROJECT IMEP (INTERNATIONAL MODEL EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT)

With the high patronage of the President of the European Parliament, under the patronage of the Regional Council of Lazio and Lombardy, open to the participation of students from schools in Milan and the metropolitan area, participation in IMEP offers high school students the involvement in the simulation in English language of the activities of the European Parliament, during which they perform all the functions of the MEPs precisely in order to learn to be European citizens, legislating and expressing their vote on relevant issues.
IMEP is one of the partners of Scuola Europa for the certification of 70 hours carried out in a context of School-Work Alternation.

STAGE AND CLIL (CONTENT AND LANGUAGE INTEGRATED LEARNING)

Scuola Europa offers to students of the second year the opportunity to undertake a course CLIL abroad to offer them the opportunity to completely immerse themselves in the target language, together with their teachers and hosted by local families.

PCTO (FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE WORK-STUDY PROGRAMME)

Pursuant to Article 1, paragraph 785, of the Law of 30 December 2018, no. 145, Scuola Europa offers High School students in the 3rd and 4th years the opportunity to participate in a two-part project: starting in their 3rd year of High School students may take part in a Work-Study programme that is divided between classroom training, which includes meetings with expert trainers from the institution selected for the PCTO activity of the school year curriculum, and practical activities related to the simulation of actual work – as if the student were really in an office or company – during extra-curricular hours, sponsored by the trainers. Furthermore, during periods that do not overlap with school activities (the summer period in particular), students work in the offices of professionals who have partnered with Scuola Europa where they simultaneously carry out simulated work activities and are oriented towards a possible future university selection.

PEER TO PEER

The students of Scuola Europa are given the opportunity to carry out peer-to-peer education curricular activities, at different times in school life. Students who wish to do so are also offered the opportunity to take advantage of the School’s rooms (classrooms, floor libraries) in the afternoon to study in small groups, including inter-high school students and/or perform other optional extracurricular activities.

EXCHANGES

The School offers cultural exchanges, educational, linguistic, in the Countries whose languages are the object of study by the students. The aim is to increase the sense of identity and social cohesion among young people, thereby fostering the mobility in the world, and preparing them to actively interact in the development and improvement of the cultural, economic and social.

AVANT-GARDE EDUCATIONAL

Scuola Europa reconnects the didactic knowledge and knowledge of society and knowledge in a scenario teaching, that is centered on the acquisition of the skills of the XXI century. Lead to experimental innovation; is in contact with the Educational Avant-garde Movement (Indire) and is involved in an attendance and coaching process in presence and online to be in tune with Law 107 (Good School), with the National Digital School Plan (PNSD), with Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

ORIENTATION

Each year Scuola Europa offers to the children of the second two-year period and the fifth year of the Liceo, a route guidance of the university articulated in several proposals: meetings with the expert trainers to school on time in the curriculum, participation in the open days university, rate afternoon courses offered by the University of Bocconi, participation in training activities promoted by the Rotary.

BES PROJECT 

Students with disabilities, developmental disabilities and linguistic and cultural disadvantages, DSAs and BESs, who are in need of didactic procedures commensurate with their needs, are involved in the so-called inclusion plan (PEI, Law 104/92; PDP, Law 170/2010 ). Moreover Scuola Europa welcomes non-Italian mother tongue students through various initiatives to facilitate their insertion aimed at scholastic and social success.

COMPETITIVE SPORTS ACTIVITIES

Throughout the year sports activities are organized in outside of school hours, including football, swimming, volleyball, athletics, basketball and ski competitions. These are sponsored by several sports federations.

BULLYING AND WELL-BEING PROJECT 

Technological development has seen a dramatic increase in the use of the Internet as the main medium of communication; at the same time, it has become the means by which various forms of bullying and “harsh” discrimination are currently taking place. Scuola Europa, with the proactive assistance of an on-campus psychologist, promotes prevention activities.

VOLUNTEERING AND SOLIDARITY

All students from the third year to the fifth year of High Schools will be able to choose between the proposed options for volunteer work during the academic year.

FIRST AID

The Italian Red Cross of Milan offers training courses at the School that are designed to provide theoretical and practical first aid instructions on how to act promptly and correctly to activate qualified rescue personnel.

EXTRACURRICULAR LANGUAGES

Scuola Europa offers individual courses in Arabic, Chinese, German, French, English, Spanish, Russian, Turkish with native-speaking teachers.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT LESSONS

Musical instrument lessons are individual courses whose goals are built around the needs and expectations of the individual student. In addition to solid basic instrument foundation, individual music lessons offer the opportunity for students to expand their cultural, creative and emotional knowledge and stimulate cognitive processes that also reflect in areas outside of music.
